Terms And Conditions

Establishing comprehensive terms and conditions is critical in safeguarding both Cline Electrical and its clients. Proper documentation ensures that all involved parties are aware of their rights, responsibilities, and the course of action in various scenarios, from project commencement to completion.

Effective terms and conditions should be accessible, understandable, and all-encompassing, covering areas such as project scope, materials, warranties, payments, and dispute resolution. By clearly stating these clauses, Cline Electrical can build trust, manage expectations, and protect its business interests.

When outlining the terms and conditions, it is important to understand the electrical industry’s technical requirements, safety standards, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations that may impact service provision. With this in mind, the following are key sections to include when drafting terms and conditions for electrical services.

SECTION 1 – SCOPE OF WORK

1.1 Description of Services

We, Cline Electrical, will perform electrical services that may include, but are not limited to:

  • Electrical inspections and diagnostics
  • Assessment of existing electrical systems and panels
  • Electrical repairs and troubleshooting
  • Installation or replacement of wiring, outlets, switches, panels, lighting, or fixtures
  • Electrical upgrades to meet current code requirements
  • Final testing and job site clean-up

The specific scope of work will be clearly outlined in the written estimate provided to you, the homeowner or client, prior to any work commencing.

1.2 Estimates and Proposals

Any estimates or proposals provided are valid for a specified period, typically 30 days from the date issued. Estimates may be subject to change if site conditions, material availability, code requirements, or the scope of work change after the estimate is prepared.

1.3 Exclusions

Unless otherwise stated in writing, our services do not typically include:

  • Structural repairs or construction work
  • Drywall repair, patching, or painting
  • Low-voltage systems such as security, data, or audio-visual wiring
  • Utility company work beyond the electrical meter
  • Mold, pest, or environmental remediation

Any services not expressly listed in the estimate are excluded from the scope of work.

SECTION 2 – PROJECT MANAGEMENT

2.1 Scheduling and Timing

Once an agreement is reached, we will provide an anticipated schedule for the electrical services. This schedule is an estimate and may be impacted by permit approvals, material availability, inspections, or unforeseen site conditions.

2.2 Project Delays

While we strive to complete all projects in a timely manner, delays may occur. If delays arise, Cline Electrical will communicate promptly regarding revised timelines and the reason for the delay.

2.3 Change Orders

Any additional work requested beyond the original estimate will require a written change order outlining the revised scope and cost. No additional work will be performed without the client’s approval.

2.4 Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for:

  • Securing access to the property and work areas
  • Ensuring pets, furniture, and personal belongings are cleared from the work zone
  • Disclosing known electrical issues, underground utilities, or site hazards
  • Providing accurate property and utility information

Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in delays or additional costs.

SECTION 3 – PAYMENT AND BILLING

3.1 Payment Terms

A deposit may be required to secure the project start date. The remaining balance is due upon satisfactory completion of the work unless otherwise stated in the estimate. Payment schedules for larger projects will be clearly defined in advance.

3.2 Additional Costs

If unforeseen conditions require additional labor or materials, we will notify you and obtain approval before proceeding.

3.3 Late Payments

Late payments may be subject to fees and could result in suspension of work. Cline Electrical reserves the right to pursue collection or legal action for unpaid balances.

SECTION 4 – WARRANTIES AND GUARANTEES

4.1 Manufacturer Warranties

Materials and equipment installed may carry manufacturer warranties. Warranty documentation will be provided where applicable, and we will assist with warranty claims related to installed components.

4.2 Workmanship Guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for a specified period, typically one year, or as required by local regulations. This guarantee applies only to defects directly related to our work and does not cover damage caused by misuse, alterations, or third-party services.

SECTION 5 – INSURANCE AND LIABILITY

5.1 Insurance Coverage

Cline Electrical maintains general liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage to protect both our employees and our clients.

5.2 Property Protection

We take reasonable precautions to protect your property during electrical work. Any damage caused directly by our services will be addressed promptly.

5.3 Indemnification

The client agrees to indemnify and hold Cline Electrical harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from the contracted work, except in cases of proven company negligence.

SECTION 6 – POST-PROJECT SERVICES

6.1 Post-Completion Inspection

Upon completion, we will review the work with you to confirm satisfaction and ensure the project meets the agreed-upon scope.

6.2 Follow-Up Support

We remain available for follow-up support related to warranty-covered work. Our team will respond promptly to service inquiries or concerns.
